eHealth Ventures Completes 2020 Annual Innovation Event – Successfully!

Tel-Aviv, May 8th, 2020

The Annual Innovation Event is a key fixture of the eHealth Ventures incubator. The previous three events brought us over 200 applications from new companies and 800 participants. We were convinced this year’s event would continue to expand our exposure and positioning as a leading player in the Digital Health ecosystem.

When the COVID-19 crisis moved in, we did not fold in any way. In February, based on the “market conditions,” we pivoted (just as we tell our CEOs to do when the ecosystem shifts…) and converted the event to a Zoom webinar.

COVID or not, three months of preparations led to 320 registrations, over 200 online attendees, 50 company applications, five final presentations and two winners.

The event was sponsored and judged by our partners – Medison Ventures, PWC, Amazon Web Services, Tri-Ventures ARC and the Leumit HMO. The CEOs of all eHV portfolio companies also participated in the voting process, as well as the general audience.

After greetings from Daniel Berman (Chairman of eHV), Talor Sax (CEO) introduced the incubator, its structure and achievements and elaborated on the unique opportunity the current crisis presents us: To push Digital Health forward into the mainstream medicine. He also announced our new investment proposition for seed companies – post clinical proof of concept and up to one year from the market. Standup comic Hanoch Daum – one Israel’s funniest, was very funny indeed.

Dr. Yossi Rosenblum (CMO), presented the five CEOs of the finalist companies (AR Medics, BeatMap, Votis, Huuge Health, SightScan) who delivered highly professional presentations followed by Q&A from the audience and panelists.

Based on the votes by partners, portfolio CEO and the participants, the winners are:

The judges favorite was SightScan. They are developing the ROU – a Robotic Ophthalmologic Ultrasound with probe automation, image acquisition and AI for eye-image analysis.

The crowd favorite was BeatMap. Working on the AlgoRhythmTM, a machine-learning based approach that enables early identification of patients at risk for adverse cardiac outcomes.

The winners will receive a term sheet for 3M NIS from the eHV incubator plus an extensive package of consulting hours from the sponsor partners.

The event surpassed our expectations on all fronts and the goals of increasing exposure, positive positioning and high-quality deal flow were definitely achieved. We want to thank all the companies for applying and presenting, and the participants for attending.

Congratulations to the winners and see you next year!!
